NEW AETHER THEORY
If we do not accept that the light wave can propagate without a propagation medium, the negative result of Michelson's experiment can only be explained by the presence of a layer of immobile Aether on the Earth's surface, a hypothesis shared by several pre-relativistic physicists. We will show that Fizeau's experiment, performed in 1851, already strongly suggested the existence of an Aether bound to the Earth.
